Some images from when I photographed the wedding of Poppy and Joris in Oud-Turnhout, Belgium. Poppy, from Indonesia, and Joris, from Belgium, are a lovely, fun-loving couple. They even took me out for dinner the night before their celebration and introduced me to some fine local beers!
The day started with Poppy’s preparations, followed by a civil ceremony with a small group of friends and family at the Town Hall. This was followed by champagne back at their house before everyone headed over to the restaurant for the reception, where the sun came out as the wedding party enjoyed the garden. At the end of the meal, the huge cake was rolled out, dry ice pouring out of its base, and not long after, everyone headed home. The bride and groom had to be up early the next day to fly to Jakarta for their second wedding ceremony.
Many thanks to both Poppy and Joris for having me along on their special day, and I wish them a wonderful life together!
And here’s a game of hide and seek I noticed happening during the reception:
