Patrick and Anita chose an amazing location for their engagement portraits – the Ballhaus Riviera and Gesellschaftshaus in Grunau.
Opened in 1890, it closed its doors in 1991 and has since then remained unused and fallen into disrepair; one of Berlin’s many abandoned buildings. It’s fenced off and boarded up, so we had to jump the fence and climb in through a window to get in, and once inside tread lightly on the crumbling floors. But the risk was worth it for the pretty much limitless photographic possibilities it offers.
So thanks to Patrick and Anita for choosing such a great place for their couple shoot and for the fun day out, to the fence for being climb-able, and to my excellent assistant for her help.
