One of my first ever photo assignments was to secretly take photos of someone proposing to their girlfriend. It was pretty exciting. I hid in a bush with a zoom lens. That was quite an intense, military version of proposal shoot, and so far the only time I’ve need to conceal myself in vegetation, but I’d be happy to do it again if necessary.
Since then I’ve been lucky enough to photograph several surprise proposals, and it’s still exciting. The secret planning, the anticipation, then, on the day, the codes (a nod, a wink), trying to look innocent and unobtrusive while staying alert. Then there’s the moment itself, which happens quickly (for me at least) and is so charged with emotion, and trying to capture it with the best light and composition.
It’s $400 + taxes, all-inclusive: that is, all the photography and photo-editing.
We’d have a consultation in person or on the phone to work out the timings and logistics of your proposal. Then, on the day, you have me for an hour, which includes the photography of the proposal itself, then, after you’ve had a bit of time to absorb what’s just happened, I’ll take some intimate portraits of the two of you.
Approximately 25 upwards.
You’ll receive a digital transfer of your images within one week, and a private gallery from which you’ll be able to order prints of your images.
If you’re thinking of popping the question, planning on doing it somewhere in or around Montreal or Longueuil, and would like a stealthy, experienced photographer there to capture the special moment, just get in touch:
